I’ve noted before that the press loves publishing horrible photos of Mrs. Clinton. They pick on her like no other. We’ve seen so many of these pictures, we’ve now begun to think she’s the dragon lady. Maybe she is. What do I know. I did a Google image search for Hillary Clinton, and here is what I saw. Every one of these is from the first page of results:
No wonder we find her unappealing. Tomorrow, I’ll post Barack Obama’s pictures. Who do you think the press wants for President? Who do you think really controls your vote?
It may not be the press who is to blame. Sure, they sometimes put these unflattering photos up, but they do it for Bush a lot too. Image search is based in large part on how many people link to the photo (or page containing the photo). Funny pictures are going to get more links and thus show up at the top of the list. Do a similar search for Bush or any celebrity or pol, and I bet you’ll see a similar set of awkward instances.
I certainly haven’t proven a causal relationship; so don’t take this too seriously.
However, I do believe that photos in journalism have more impact than print; and it colors our thought. I don’t have the research to site right now, but research shows this is true. The press can be a sounding board for popular thought; if they think people want to see Hillary with her eyes bulged out, they put a picture of that, then it confirms the reader’s thought and solidifies the opinion.
I agree with you whole heartedly. I usually don’t give in to conspiracy theories or anything, but it is too uncanny the way they give obama a free smear campaign too. They always promote from his point of view.
I am gonna go out on a limb, but i think the main reason is becuase, as president, corporations would seriously be held accountable again. Obama would hold them accountable to, but there is one difference. Obama won’t win any republican swing state. NONE. This is the best insurance policy for corporations to get another rebulican in office to continue to have the best playground to screw America.
Maybe Obama is simply more photogenic?
